A college buddy of mine and I are blowing the next week off and are heading to Salt Lake City to take in some Winter Olympics action! We figure it's around a 25 hour drive from Cincinnati, Ohio but we're both capable of long stints in a car, so that's no big deal. In addition, we're going full road trip style, completely incognito and we're going to be driving my '85 300TD wagon but also will be using that as our hotel! Going to "rough" it for a few days! We've got good down sleeping bags and lots of cold weather gear. I'm stoked! We will take lots of pics and report on how the car does on the trip! My only concern was weather on the way out, and the wagon doesn't have snow tires but my buddy insists the roads will be clear, he's been out that way many times before.

P.S.---We were told to drive through Nebraska at night! Nothing to see I guess! (sorry to all of you Nebraskans (?))

I remember these trips fondly!
I put a tomato from my fathers garden in Michigan on the dash of my 69 Cadillac and watched it ripen as I approached the west coast.
When I finally ate it, it was bittersweet.
