BUMMER! got the clear tube and sucked a few times and the car didnt shut off. I pulled the tube off and the bottom had oil in it. I feel like I just smoked my car. Yuck! Guess I need to replace the shut off valve at the IP. Dont really want to spend the $$$.

Three or four quick hard sucks should shut it off. A junkyard shut off valve may be the solution given the current prices, until someone here comes up with a way of disassembling and repairing the diaphragm.

well I bought a vacuum pump tool yesterday and just hooked it up to the valve at the side of the injection pump and got nothing. Either the valve is totally shot or I am doing somthing wrong. Reading stays at zero.

Define "side". You should be at the rear of the injection pump. Towards the steering wheel. If you put it on the true side of the IP you hooked it up to the vent. Once you hook it up to the shut off valve, pump it and the car should shut off after a few pumps.

I hooked it to the shut off valve / stop solenoid. Pumped vacuum pump and nothing, no shut off no reading on vacuum gauge.

Twice you've referred to it as being on the side. Are you sure we are talking about the shut off valve? It's not the VCV which is also on the back of the IP and has a bunch of vacuum lines attached. The shut off valve is way down on the back of the IP between the IP and oil filter housing. It's hard to see it by looking at a distance. You have to get down close.

The more details you can add, the more we can help you so please expand on your explanations.

Does you vacuum gauge work? Have you noticed the gauge/pump working at anytime? Pictures would help as well.
