I'm freinds with Shift-Rite, inc, the local woodbridge aamco dealer. Unlike most aamco shops they know what they are doing and do it for a reasonable cost. I'd recommend them fully. They have done two transmissions for me, one a new install and another one a full rebuild and both are on the road with over 40,000 miles (plus if I ask them to take a look at it and make sure everything is ok they change the fluid and filter free of charge every time)

I live in Owings Mills, which is just outside of Baltimore. I do not have a shop off hand that I would send you to for a MBZ rebuild, but I have visitied Potomac German Auto in Frederick, if you are in the market for a reycled tranny. I hear that there is a place in Virginia called American Servuce Center and they have a pretty good reputation, you may want to give them a call.

CJ,

Thank you for the info I did check with ASC in Arlington and they have a rebuit one for $1800.00. I don't know if that is a good price. I also found a another shop in Atlanta that will do the entire job for $1400.00 (trany and labor) Here is the site. I found this site at this news group. http://www.germantransmission.net/e-ger.transm.htm

Does anyone have any info on this company?
