No 89TD's were ever sold in the USA so there is limited knowledge here. Do you know if the 89 is roughly similar to the 87? People here have knowledge about the 87.

the fuse should be in the GP controller itself for the old type controller, and if you have a new type then there is no fuse, it uses a circuit breaker instead.

Where is the GP controller. Is it the same as the GP relay?

If your car has the OM603 (3 litre 6 cylinder) it should be the old style 80 amp flat fuse. See pictures for location.

If you have the OM602 (2.5 litre 5 cylinder) it will be the circuit breaker type that Zulfiqar mentioned.

As Kerry said no 300TDs after 1987 here so it would help us to know which engine you have.

Box at the end of white pointer (tube) in first photo. Second photo is with cover off. If it does have the fuse actually take it out and make sure it is good. They are known to develop hair line sized cracks.

Any chance you can post a picture of the engine bay? I just want to see what is different on an '89? Do you ASD? There will be a small display in the speedometer.

Oh, welcome to the forum.

Chris

What is ASD? My pictures are too large, I don't know how to reduce it yet, I will send it to you or you can give me your email.

the fuse is a metal strip screwed on by 2 screws and is under the removable cover of the controller/relay, If you dont see the fuse you have a later model controller with a built in circuit breaker. It resets itself after 10 minutes. Be sure to check for any dead short to ground at the glow plug wiring.

Looks like you have the updated relay which resets itself. You should also have 30 seconds of after-glow.

What issues are you having with the car?

When I turn on the key, glow light is off and the car will not start. I already bought the fuse 80 amps, but could not find in the box. Do I need to replace the relay?

Have you tested the glow plugs?
