what I find pretty cool about that is that it was evidently in service for 34 years before being in an accident! Must have been a fairly reliable vehicle, I wonder if some shop said. "you should just buy new, for the price of repairing this old POS, you could save money by making payments on a 1920 new model year with things like pneumatic tires, and a roof. Its not worth it to you to fix a 30 year old vehicle. We could retrofit it to be drawn by horses though for much cheaper."

Then 90 years later, someone is selling the formerly wrecked car for 400,000 euros.

Thats like someone driving their 1986 benz until 2020, and wrecking it. Makes me want to keep my 1986 jetta. in 2112, some descendant of mine could try and sell if for 900 times what it was worth new way back when.

Engine Swap? think it would qualify as "Alternative Fuels"

"Very Nice!"

No but MB is very serious about part availability for their cars. They will send the specs to a manufacturer who will make you a one off. You will pay an arm, both legs, a kidney, a few fingers for it but you have already paid with all the other parts for the rolling chassis. They would seriously be interested in such a restoration and make all blue prints available (for a price probably), I can guarantee you that.

However, after looking at a number of the 1886 pics, I don't think this is one. The mud flaps are aftermarket and the handles on the right side are different.

this is what I was thinking...
it looks NOTHING like the 1886 MB's pictured at my dealership...

there are quite a few hits on 1886 MB's on google, and they are all 3 wheel wire wheeled vehicles... I see that it's been converted to use as a carriage, so perhaps only the main chassis is MB?
