tango,
You are absolutely right, the instructions do say that, for the FIRMEST shift I recall the tech Joe asking me if I wanted to bang or just to shift nice and I said no put the regular shift spring in, so rather than install the FIRMER (not firmest) from the ST kit we used the OEM springs from the kits the dealer sent over The result is good, the 2 to 3 does not flare anymore at all, shift is "perfect" The NEW or newly noticeable problem is that the transmission clunks into fourth gear at 20 to 22 mph depending on throttle pressure So now I'm on "why wont the trans hold 3rd gear longer" question, I've adjusted the VCV to put a touch more vac and pulled in the detent / bowden cable a bit, these adjustments got it to stop making a horrible CLUNKing sound, it still shifts (almost silently now) into fourth WAY too early If I take out of D and into S, it takes off beautifully and then I shift it to D at 30ish and it's fine Last I checked modulator pressure it was good, I'm going to check it again this weekend Annoyed, yet I press on! If anyone's got any suggestions I would love to hear them!!
