240D vacuum issues
Over the next few days I plan on taking care of the vacuum leaks that've plagued my car since I've had it. Now, is it common for the actual lines to leak, or just the connectors? All of the connectors seem to be original to the car, so I'd like to go through and replace all of the rubber on the lines and see where that gets me (I'm putting in a new interior, so the car is bare now). After that, if problems persist, I plan on isolating the actuators and testing them with the mityvac. Is this a good plan of action, or am I looking at this the wrong way?

I just did this recently. I found that the most common area for hard line breaks are the area where the line goes through each of the doors and into the cabin. You can pull off the little rubber tube on each door and see if any hard lines are broke. On my car both back doors had broken yellow lines with the red and green stripe.
After checking the hard lines for the locking system on the drivers door use a vac pump to on the lines to see if your doors lock and unlock. another good place to start is in your engine bay test the yellow line with grey stripe, that is to your vaccum tank. |

if you've got the interior out, thats a great place to start, since a lot of the breaks and leaks occur behind the door panels!
