Just noticed the passenger rear window in my 300D stopped working. I can hear the motor running and something ratcheting but window does not go down. I'll be pulling the panel out to have a look. What do you think I will find?

To limit power to the motor, reduce the voltage to it. A diode has a 0.7V drop across it so if you add a series of diodes to the motor, you can control its power output. Diodes are cheap, cheaper than going to button school, which may not always help. I may experiment with that when I have it apart.

another idea

Never roll down the windows !!!

Of course, the drive in window and toll booths are much harder to navigate. Just remember, there is a reason why our cars do NOT have cup holders from the factory. We aren't suppose to have cups in our cars, right?? So, there's no need to visit the drive in window at a fast food restaurant.

But ... if I can't open the windows, then I'd have to fix the A/C ...

Or just drive "that Mercedes" when the heat is needed.

This way, you have to get out of the car and WALK into the restaurant.
One must in some way to get our daily exercise.

Electric windows are for lazy people. 240D`s pre 82 are for energetic people that like to exercise and prefere manual window winders.
