The speedo on my 87 190D turbo started freaking out today. Any ideas? I do not think it is the actual speedo because the cruise would surge as well. I am thinking the gear on the end of the cable.

might be a sticky cable in need of lube or something has broken in the cable/Speedometer

Mine did that just last week. Just before the cable broke!

You may as well replace it now. New one is around $50.

I thought maybe the speedo but since the cruise is acting up as well I think it might be the cable. This morning it worked fine.
