When I did my '87 300D fan swap, I got parts for a 1996 E300D. Make sure there isn't some mechanical interference issue with radiator shrouds and such in your SDL.

Would the set up on your 300d and my 300SDL from the same year really be that different as to be an issue??

606 clutches are the same, get a OE Behr or MB stamped unit - people say its better, and get the 11 blade fan from a W210 turbodiesel.

Probably not but one is a 124 and the other a 126, completely different bodies. Z.'s advice is good.
