Drive shaft balancer
Hi all,
I just check my drive line in my 91 300D 2.5 and found it needed a front flex disk and a center support. Just behind the front flex disk on the drive shaft there is a harmonic balancer that doesn't look like it can be replaced. I can't find one listed in BUY PARTS either. Can it be changed? Can I just take it off? The rubber is cracked and it needs to be replaced. What do I do? Paul

I understand it can be removed on the 617 manuals with no problems but I dont have first hand knowledge, mines OK.

That is probably one of those items that will require a phone call to Phil (800# in Buy Parts). Other than that, the dealer might be the only possibility.

If it's similar to the w123 balancer I have, look closely on the outer edge of the balancer and you should see a part number.
I'm curious what is the part number also and what is the diameter of this balancer compared to the w123 unit. .
