Turn Signals Inop

1985 300D: My signals are not working. I move the stock up or down and nothing. No indicator on the dash and no blinking light. The fuse is fine.

1) Do the hazard lights work?

2) If the hazard lights do not work, replace fuse 12 and clean the contacts. Recheck to see if the turn signals or the hazard lights now work.

3) If the hazard lights work, and the turn signals do not work, replace the combination switch.

4) If the hazard lights still do not work after replacing the fuse, then the hazard switch or the flasher is NG. You'll need voltmeter or a test light to troubleshoot further.

Turn the hazard switch on and off about 10 times. Worked for me.

Yep, what they said. In my case it is often the dog or kids fault (as is everything!), stepping on the switch, causing it to go half way or something. The first time it took me a while to figure out it was the hazzard switch.

Thanks Guys!! It was in fact the hazard switch. Flipped it several times and now everything is back to normal. Come to think of it, I let someone else drive my car the other day. Bet that had something to do with it!!!:rockstar:

This thread is why no matter how sure I am of the cause of a problem, I post a question on this forum first. It seems like often there is something easy I didn't think of!
