air bubbles in primary filter

hi,

i've got large air bubbles in my primary filter when i rev the engine; i've tried using a seperate container with diesel fuel and run straight off that and i still have bubbles in my filter. i used a different filter too and a different hose with same result. have rough idle (because of air leak i assume). not really sure where to go from here. could it be that the lift pump is somehow creating these bubbles? thanks for any advice

A large bubble is normal, that's not your idle issue, check all connections for tightness.

If you're getting too many, that could be an issue.

Do you have an old primer pump?

The return hose is just that, it sends fuel back to the tank, no issues there.

got the updated primer pump. i just don't understand how air is getting in the line since i eliminated anything from the hard line back to the tank.

Have you replaced the rubber supply line to the primary filter?

Make sure connections are tight.
