W126 antenna FUBAR

So, I got a stupid idea in my head today and thought I would go out and replace the seal on my antenna and install a longer one. Well, that turned into the biggest SNAFU you could imagine. Well, the mount thingy that all the antenna crap connects to basically crumbled into pieces. I tried removing the coax cable and the aluminum piece broke off completely in the connector.

I don't know how you are supposed to remove the antenna motor assembly but it looked like you hold onto the large aluminum ring that sits against the inside of the rear panel and then unscrew the 19mm nut that is exposed outside. Well, F that whole idea. Either I did something wrong or this whole assembly was FUBAR before I even touched it. The rest of the aluminum mount inside the fender crumbled into a bunch of pieces once I finally got the outer bolt off. Now instead of a new seal, I have a gaping hole into my trunk!

Man, I should have never bought this car. It is one thing after another. I have been working on it for almost 6 months and I'm probably not even 50% done getting it back to original functionality. I oughta just replace the tie rods on my truck and drive it for a while. At least I'm almost 100% done working on it. And the radio and A/C work.

Well, if anyone could explain to me the proper procedure for replacing an antenna seal, the mount, etc I would appreciate it. I guess I am heading back to the junk yard again.
