All of a sudden no air comes out of my center vents on ny 85 300 SD. Doe any body know what could cause this? Do I have to pull the dash out to see why the flaps are closed to the center vents?

Vacuum Pod most likely.

I had this problem with my dad's 300SD a few weeks ago. If you pull vacuum on each of the lines of the switchover valve you'll find the culprit. One or more will not hold vacuum.

It turned out, for my dad's SD, that the second portion of the defroster flaps pod had failed. The vacuum for the center flaps is routed so that it opens both the center flaps and the defroster flap part way. It was this "part way" portion of the defroster flap pod that caused a leak. This leak caused the center pod to remain closed.

It might be the case on yours too! Best thing to do is get that passenger side center console carpeting off and pull vacuum on each of the lines that come off the switchover valve tree.
