If I can ride the OP's coat tails, what about the sticker price of a 1974 240D?

I don't have the Monroney label, but the original owner says that she paid $10k without any options. Is there a way to get a reprint from MB?

I remember looking at a brand new 240D in Phoenix in 1976 and it was under $10,000, my memory says $9300.00 but I don't remember the options. But that is a looooooooooooong time ago.

$10000 was a LOT of money in the 1970's....keep in mind a domestic vehicle could be had for much less than half that.

Yes. If I recall, my 'Cuda listed for ~$4000-$4500 in 1973.

But there was also high inflation at the time and the price of imported cars, especially German ones, had prompt jumps in the sticker price from one year to the next and sometimes several times per year.
