That fourth one in the parking garage (z29.jpg) might be my W201... was that at REI?
Kurt |
And z48.jpg looks like a friend of mine's 300D. He lives on Cook Street, just off MLK. Go two blocks east and one block south and you'll see a 240D and a W201 snuggled up together :)

Yes for the most part if the car is an orig. Portland car, they stay fairly rust free. Thanks for the response I'm glad people are enjoying the Pics Im Posting, Maybe eventually some one on this forum will get to see their car spotted. |

I found 2 w201 Diesels lurking around my neighbor hood
3 Attachment(s)
The 1st one is the coveted 2.5T, notice the updated side molding but not the rear bumper.
Attachment 104243 The second one is a grey market euro diesel, not sure which engine though , Did they ever do a 2.0D in a 201 and not bothered to show a engine size. I really like the offset of the small 14" wheels, looks good. notice the bottom of the rear bumper pulls in at the steeper angle on the euro models. Attachment 104244 Attachment 104245 |

this nice little rust free 82 240D with 250K was at the local dealer auction today, power windows and roof, I drove it and it drove really nice, plus it had manual climate controls!!!!! but the owner started the bidding at $1000 so I was out, It didnt sell. Don't get me wrong,. I would pay $1000 all day long for it, but the owner wasnt going to let it go for that. Attachment 104565 Attachment 104566 |
With the high number of old Deisel MB's in Portland, I cant believe the lack of forum members we have here, I thought for sure there would have been way more people seeing their cars posted.:(

I was in S.E Portland the other day working and just a couple houses down from where I was, where 3 Diesel 126's so I had to grab a few pix.
Later that day I met the gentleman who owned them, he was wonderful to talk with and we gabbed it up for about 15 min. he had 2 SD's and 1 SDL, the SDL was his and the other 2 where his wife and daughters' cars he said he had been a VW fanatic for years till he Learned about the Mercs. He said he fell in love instantly and the rest is history,he said that was 15 years ago, he said his only regret was that he didn't learn of them sooner, Typical Mercedes owner comment:), no matter which one you drive. Attachment 107888 Attachment 107889 These were taken in Oregon City at the Feed Hardware store Attachment 107894 Attachment 107895 |
I've only been up in the PDX area for a few days over a week but mine is a bamboo colored 1978 300D in case you see it around. I live in Ridgefield though so I'm not tooling around Portland much yet while I still get the lay of the land.
In the driveway next to my car is a 1973 220D (owned by forum member Shotwell.) Just a block over is a beautiful green W123 wagon. Not sure if it's a diesel or a gasser. We have every intention of walking over and introducing ourselves. Oh yeah, there's a 190D just down the street too. Phil Forrest |
