300sd 81 driving 230 miles a day...

I have been driving my car for 230 miles a day for the last month... It has done amazing. I have noticed that I am getting 31.6 miles per gallon cruising speed around 75. I am losing no oil... I just put new michelin tires on it with 90k mile warranty... If anyone is looking for a daily driving machine this model is great... I have noticed that when you use diesel klean it seems to have a 50 mile farther range. no proof on this yet. Im sick of adjusting valves and rotating tires.

Adding anything adds to the fuel supply so if it burns it will increase apparent fuel economy.

sounds like fantastic economy. You running stock sized tires?

My Discount Tyre started carrying them in the 205/70R14. Which is great, I need tyres next year.

Full set of four, with warranty, is $625 OTD in my area. There is/was a promo going for $100 off a set of four Michelins... for that price you really cannot beat it.

The Discount Tire page has been bookmarked for future reference in the Fall.

My General Altimax tires have held up well over the past 25,000 miles, but it looks like they'll need replacing right around the time that the 30K warranty expires.
