85 W123 main instrument cluster plug

Came apart while I was taking the speaker out (cluster has to come out to do this), and I didn't catch it before it was apart. Does anyone have a a guide or reference to where the wires go in the plug? It's circular and has 15 numbered holes that correspond to the wires I partially jumbled up.

Unless you pulled around alot on the wires after the mishap, you can usually tell where they belong by the way they are bent. On the 123 cars, the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual is quite complete and adequate if you can't find anything else.

Charlie, thanks for this. I think they're the same, as I have 14 wires on mine, too.

Murphy jumps in

So I was doing all this with the threat of a summer thunderstorm, and after a break, I notice that the rain is rolling in so I run to shut the drivers side window. I put the negative cable on the battery, turned the key switch and let the smoke out of one of the wires. This has made me frustrated to the point of stopping for the day. The keyswitch is showing signs of locking up, too. Damn.

I had a similar problem a few years ago. The plug's half round guide "post" had broken off and I inserted the plug one connection off causing smoke and a couple things getting toasted. Don't remember what they were but it didn't turn out to be too big of a problem.
