I do agree with your above statement in post #7 about PFCs not necessarily being better than using R12 (as I stated). I simply pointed out the inaccuracy of saying a PFC was more expensive than stock which was the main reason I went with a PFC at the time. Having to do it all over again I would have spent more money and stuck with R12 on that vehicle.

And just how, exactly, did I carry an argument anywhere? I thought this was a thread about air conditioning. I don't remember any of them in OD.

What was the purpose of quoting my post to point out that R12 is more expensive than R134a? You just randomly decided to do that?

Please answer my direct question to you posed in my previous post. Point out the inaccuracy of the statement which you quoted earlier. Otherwise I don't see the point of your post.

Whatever you want! Just show me the question in the post and I'll give it a shot!

Re-Direct (?) back to "Angel's Breath"

I'm now considering "Going Over to the Dark Side"
(AKA leaving the 134 "conversion" in place on an earlier W124that was factory equipped for R12)

BUT,BUT,BUT ! R-R ing the Condenser with a "134 from the factory unit"
from a later W124 Chassis.

Please,How many years of the Later W124 had R134a from the Factory???
(Which would have the more efficient Condenser)

The 93+ condensor sure looks very similar to the r12 90-92 condensor. They didn't go PF til the w210.

I wonder if the compressor's different?

Didn't they use a Denso 10pa? Also my hunch they used a bigger dryer.

Welllll...

1.Larger R/Dryer,
2.the 'Denso 10 P,
3.and a PF condenser

IS a Larger System.

And the W124s have always had to overcome a "Skimpy" cooling system
(For the Engine)

How many other makes use BOTH a Mechanical "Puller" fan and Two "Pushers"
on the same chassis?

Almost as if the test "Models" were ONLY operated in Arctic conditions.

I was looking at a 92 300D one time that was factory 134a. For all I know it was the last 92 model ever made.

The later models use a 10P17 compressor. By changing the bracketry on an earlier engine, you can use this compressor. The mount holes are farther apart fore and aft than those of a 10P15 or 10PA15.

Here's mine on a 116:

Condenser size (AC condenser)

Plenty of info in that thread about erectile dysfunction, alien abductions, EPA regulations, etc. as well...

100 F PLUS here as of late And, yea, I do a lot of driving and stay pretty comfortable. I've been fighting my blower motor which I hope to have sorted today. I may do some modifications to it...
