Does anyone know exactly how the wires in the main fuse box connect into it from underneath (under the fuses)? Are they all part of a plug group or do small individual wires attatch (how). I can't imagine they just push into a oneway connector that you release somehow to get them out? Any help appriciated.

They are all screwed in with ring terminals on the end of the wires.

How are the shift points and rear axle ratio from the gasser working out with the diesel.

I am thinking thinking about doing one of these.

The shift points seem fine, I need to get it out on the open road but from the test drive all seems good. I wired up the glow circuit temporarily to see if all was working. The timer in the contr. box must be out as it does not kick the relay out after the prescribed 20 secs. or so using a volt meter. By the way this was with the pigtail to the GP's unplugged, would I need to be drawing heavy current to have it kick out? I was hoping to work this off the key switch but may have to put a push button in ahead to control the cycle time. Now to get it to shut down with the key switch, have a dsl. switch coming, will have to install it and see.

I think the cranking signal is what turns it off. Or 60 seconds, whichever comes first. The older relays turn off once the engine is running.

I stand corrected, got license plates for the car and the title states it's an "88" not "87" sorry. Well I had to bite the bullet and replace the ingnition 190E switch for one out of a D. I hope never to do that again as it was probably the most trying part of the whole conversion. At last though it is a turnkey conv., I can start it and shut it down. I did resort to a pushbutton for the GP's, if I can offer assistance to anyone don't hesitate to contact me. Here is a few pics of what the cam looks like in the dsl. ign. sw. this opens and closes the vacuum shutoff valve. I will post some of the car later.

I have recently been the beneficery of JamesDean's fine expertise on cruise control. My 1988 190E which I converted to a D with a 2.2 dsl. engine lost it's cruise amplifier. He directed me through the trouble shooting, I ended up swaping out the amp. and am now up w/cruise again. He knows his stuff on these units. Very fair and prompt to deal with also, I'd recommend you contacting him if your having problems. I ended up with $65 total cost and my labor.

I need to replace the plastic center air vent plastic cover. My switches have black wires attatched to them so they can't be seperated from the plug. I need to be able to seperate them so I can put them into the cover basil from the front then plugged in. What are these black wires on the sides for???

Fiberoptic light source to illuminate the switch. Just pull them out, carefully, the brass surround stays on the wire.

New windshield in blower fan switch in and blw. mtr. freed up, lubed well and all back together. I must say the windshield wiper mechanism is a bit of a challenge getting in and out. Not horrible once figured out, had to unbolt the motor from the assy. inorder to remove the mech. assy. to get to the blower. I didn't realize the engineering into the wiper mech. to sweep the windshield and keep the wiper arm in the correct position at all times. It does not only go back and forth but has to compensate in an up and down movement. Wowwwww. Now to get a working radio in this car and I'm done for a while!

Anyone considering the blower mtr. repair or windshield wiper should check this link and print it off, extremely helpful.
