w126 instrument panel bulb change? Bulbs not releasing from their carrriers?

How do the tiny bulbs release from the socket that they are mounted in? I know the carriers that hold the bulbs twist and unlock from the panel itself but what is the freaking trick to remove the tiny bulb from its carrier? I swear I have done this before but this time I am not able to remove bulbs?????

Some bulbs are manufactured as part of the plastic twist base and cannot be separated. I'm not familiar with your specific car but other M-Bs that I have worked on do have some removable bulbs and some captive.

Those tiny one`s on the back of the instrument cluster are not removeable from the plastic. I have tried.

Next time you are in one of the yards, grab a lifetime supply. there is always clusters thrown around some where in the car or ground.

As I remember it seems like the 123, 126, 201, and 124 all use the same bulbs.

Thanks, I figured out the trick, some of the bulbs copper elements had fused to the aluminum socket making simple extraction a nightmare . . . .
