For the 84 300SD
GVRW is 4750
Curb weight is about 3750

Isn't GVW the dry weight of the vehicle plus the max permissible load?

that makes sense... I was thinking of curb weight...

still I thought it was closer to 3200lbs... aluminum hood and bonnet...

1982 300D, All AC stuff pulled (except the evap), air cleaner pulled, no rear seats, alloy 15" wheels from a Mustang, no cruise, +trailer hitch, + full size steel spare. Weighed in around 3600lbs when I went to the scales with my trailer.

Unrelated facts:
The trailers was 1200lbs empty, if you're curious.

Sometimes you get lucky.

Last week I found an almost mint condition center console wood piece in Zebrano for a 2nd gen W126. I paid $7.99 at PNP and listed it on eBay. The final bid was $104. Unfortunately, the buyer does not look like he is going to pay for it.
