Hello and an introduction

Hello all,
Wanted to introduce myself and say hello, I just bought a 99 E300 TD and stumbled on this site while wandering the net, looks like a good place for these cars.

I'm new to this site, not new to diesels, I now have three, my others are trucks. I also had a VW TDI but traded it for another car.

The car has 138.000 plus on it, runs really well and is in overall really good condition. As of today I changed the air filter and used a headlight polish kit from Mothers to make the headlights clear again, the kit actually worked quite well, they look so much better.

I will be posting soon I'm sure with a few questions once I'm more familiar with the car.

Any information that anyone thinks I should know would be more than welcome. Thanks.

Dan

Welcome to the forum. This site has some very knowledgeable people. Unfortunately most of the cars are the older 617 diesels but there are many 90s diesels as well. Another site you may want to check out is the Benzworld 210 forum. I use that for questions on my two 210s (of course mine are both gassers but there is lots of diesel info as well). Although I like the peeps here better.

Welcome to the forum.

I know nothing about your yr model Iam one of the old OM616 and OM617 engine guys. But there are a lot of very knowledgable people here that know your model cars.

There is also www.superturbodiesel.com. these guys are more into modifying and going faster.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! (this engine was installed only in 240D w/automatic transmissions)

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.

Welcome to the forum, Im sure you will be able to find all the answers to which you have questions for on this site about your Om606 W210.
Nice car choice by the way, you will be the envy of many diesel owners
I myself also want to end up with a w210 turbo someday to park beside my 87 turbo
