how do i remove the bowden cable?

i have the trans pan off and have spent all day using ever tool i could think of to remove it out of the tran. is there a special way? i read somewhere that i could pry it off if i could get something under it but havent had any luck. if someone knows a trick or something please share. thanks.

Not sure about your application but I changed one out on a 85 300D and IIRC had to drop the valve body to disconnect/reconnect it.
