I just bought a complete 1987 300 turbo diesel as a parts car,it had a small fire under the hood so I am unable to start it.Not being to familiar with the problems on the 603 heads, would I be able to inspect it visualy after puling or do the issues only can be seen after pressure test?

Regards Joe

hart to say if it had overheated already, there is a number on it, next to injectors, take a look at it, if it has 14 on it it's original.

I haven,t checked it yet but my guess is that this is still the original since the car still has that particle trap installed on the turbo so I do not think any recalls had been done to this one.

I will check the number later on.
