The driver side bumper shock on my 85 300D got pushed in some time ago. I need to take the bumper off to do some paint touchups, so I thought I should try and fix the shock.

I recall trying to hammer it back open, but it wouldn't budge.

Any suggestions for getting my bumper back even again?

A used unit would be ideal but we have no pick and pulls that have benzes here.
