How often do you replace your tie rod ends?

I got a cheap set about a year ago and they're ready to be replaced now. What's the longest time money can buy when it comes to tie rod ends? Any experiences out there? I know to stay away from URO parts (mine aren't UROs).

Lemfoerder tie rod (ends) last a long time. The set on my 300SD is about 5 years old with over 60k on them and still in good shape.

The factory ones tend to last around 80 to 100K.

When they're loose.

My second 240D which saw about 95% or more highway miles went almost 500,000 miles on the original suspension. I bought a relatively low mileage car to get the engine out of it and it had a tight suspension, so I replaced the entire front suspension with pieces from the parts car.

There is no set mileage life for such components. It will depend on how the car is driven and under what conditions.

Well, I live in Utah, SLC, so It's cold most of the year, and really hot a couple months, with a week for spring and a week for fall. The rest of the rubber looks fine.

(Is that 140 yours A&R...?)
