I'll let you guys know what oil comes with the compressor.

IF I EVER RECEIVE IT!

Klima says they shipped another one but cannot give me tracking info for another 48-72 hours. That was Friday the 2nd. Still nothing.

In the meantime I'll just do without AC. They're predicting 102f tomorrow.

No problem...

Go out in a sleeveless shirt and thin shorts, been there before. You have to love hotboxing around in the middle of the summer.

My 3 and 5 year old girls may not survive. Otherwise...

I have other transportation with much better AC. A W210 and a W163 AMG but, I still prefer to putt around in the old SD. It's a sentimental thing since it belonged to an elderly friend, "Nick" that passed away a few years back.

We call this one 'Nick'.

FINALLY! My Klima Sanden compressor is all here.

Well, not quite...

They sent the wrong oil and the receiver/dryer is damaged and is unusable. TXV looks to be about the cheapest China part I have ever seen. There are metal shavings in the valve.

I'll be ordering replacements from a reputable source and maybe by the end of the summer I'll have AC in this car.

Geez...

Just wanted to add my $0.02 to the discussion. I installed a Klima Sanden kit in my 84 300D earlier this spring and no issues so far. It's nice to have working AC for once

That's nice to know.

Where are you located and what refrigerant are you running?

In the northeast (Boston area). I'm running a 5-piston sanden with the kit on 134a, with a stock condenser and fan. I'd probably be doing better with a parallel flow condenser, but for the climate up here, the AC system as configured (currently) does the trick. Probably going to lose some refrigerant through the stock hoses over time, but I was too lazy to replace/upgrade the other hoses (the one not replaced by the kit) in the system.
