Glad you're happy with the car! And yes, I was very excited to see it running in a few short hours. Frustration slowly got the better of me when epoxy kept failing on the keyway repair when I tried previously. Wish I'd paid more attention when you guys put it in on Friday so I'd know where I went wrong.

Hey man! All went smooth sir. I drove it to Roanoke Saturday morning, and drove it back to Bedford last night. It drove great. There's a rattle everytime I hit a bump with the right front, but probably something I neglected to tighten. I had another OM603 engine to install, but after seeing the keyway in mostly salvageable shape, I thought I'd try to repair it first. With the ones we've done like this, the key (no pun intended) seems to be the updated single conical spacer that Mercedes offers to replace the factory 3 washers behind the bolt. That, and 240 Ft Lbs. (320NM) of torque. The hardest part is using the little prybar like I had to hold the engine still from underneath while my buddy used a 4 ft. torque wrench to pull against me. Very tough to hold onto. Ordering a replacement condenser, expansion valve, and dryer next to try and get the AC working. I think as soon as the AC blows cold, my wife is looking to steal it. I'll drop off the chemicals I've got for you soon. If you're not home, I'll put the boxes by the garage door.

Thanks again for everything. And thanks for keeping track of all the pieces. So far, this is the most intact "taken apart" car I've bought with regards to how well the hardware was kept track of. That's a big help!

When I first started looking around for everything, I was concerned that it would be hard to find it all. Fortunately it was in a few specific places in sets so it was easy to consolidate and sort out what went where.
I was wondering how you'd held the engine from turning while using that monstrous torque wrench. Had to be a pain. Let me know what resolves the shift flare. It has to be something simple that I did wrong when replacing the cable.
