can any one tell me what part number i need?

sorry if this is in the wrong place.

How do I tell what type of throttle bushing i need? the dealer said there were different types..and mines completely gone so i have no reference..
also how difficult is it to put back together?

Check out this link. It gives ranges of chassis numbers for each type of bushing.

It's typically the last 6 digits of your VIN.

Open your hood and look at the plate riveted to the piece above the radiator.

mines 39028XXXXX (not sure if its safe to put up last 6 of VIN) it should fit this one than yeah?
it says at the bottom "Fits 1982 to 1985 models. Also fits 1982 to 1983 240D after vin number 123.123; From 208267 and on."

VIN should be of the form WDBABxxxx and the 14 digit number of consequence on the plate will begin with 123. Either way, last 6 digits. I'm tempted to say use the VIN if the last 6 digits are different since the parts catalog is based on the US EPC.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.
