Chasing electrical issue. A/C and sunroof dead. W126 1986 SDL

Hello all.

I have an 86 SDL that had a perfectly operational A/C system and sunroof that both stopped working at the same time. I am looking for more wiring diagrams and some insight as to what these two circuits may have in common besides my dumb blindness.

I have another thread on here sharing the issues I had with my fuse box.

Thanks to all for reading and offering suggestions.

It is pretty easy to disassemble these fuse boxes... have you considered picking up a good spare and swapping all the wiring to eliminate the burned unit?

Some basic soldering skills and ring terminals for the melted chaps in there would have you sitting nice and pretty.

Thanks HMX, I have thought about it, and the task is a bit daunting to be honest. Not that I am unable to solder or unbolt parts, but that it is tedious and any mistakes could prove disastrous trying to figure out what happened.

I'd need to find a good box that someone is willing to cut the harness from.

Are all W126 boxes the same? There are a few at my JY.

I agree it would be a pain, but I am sure if you made excellent notes, took many photographs, labeled wire bumdles, etc you could swap it in an afternoon.

It is hard to give advice when you have a mess to contend with inside the fuse box. My '83 BMW was like that due to PO's kid messing up a stereo install.
