Can't wiggle 603 shutoff valve free...any tips?

Am following to the letter the excellent DIY write-up on replacing the 602/603 shutoff valve. PeachPartsWiki: Shut off valve replacement I have removed the SOV bolts but can't seem to remove the SOV. It's loose but I can't get it out. Any suggestions?

Yes. Had to do that before it would come loose.

Finally managed to wiggle it out...although I'm not sure how.

Make absolutely sure you have a second person to turn the key and the materials to plug the intake if the worst scenario happens............

Before even attempting to start, apply vacuum to the new valve prior to securing the housing and confirm that the new valve is "pulled" against the IP. In this manner, you can be confident that you engaged the hook. If you can remove the new valve after applying vacuum............DON'T SECURE IT.

Thanks....yes, I confirmed with my vacuum pump that the lever moved as it should before I started the car. All is well....now can add one more thing to the (short) list of things I'm able to do.
