A Good Year So Far Buying and Selling
Over the last eight months, I've bought and sold three MBs: a 1991 300D, a 1990 300E, and a 1987 300D. My total net profit is $4,242. In addition, I've had fun learning how to do stuff.
I think my wife has even become a believer. I don't QUITE have carte blanche to do whatever I want....but as she sees results, she is granting more a more latitude.

Awwww.....so cynical!
You never know, I could find you a really nice car! But since you're in TN, you don't have to worry.

That's great that you can do something that you enjoy and make money at it too, a hobby that pays for itself. I have found in my hobbies that if I resold something I fixed up or built, there is always someone who whines about it and it is really just jealousy over their own failed efforts.

Well it's not all about money, that's for sure. Many people find more pleasure in doing someone a good turn - just out of kindness.
I've got to think people on these boards really enjoy fine engineering in these cars and that's the enthusiasm behind it helping others with there issues. It's neet to see the club help out members trying to fix up that car for personal use/enjoyment. |

That's how I made money on the 91 300D. Bought it for $700, fixed the spring perch for $750, fixed some other odds and ends and sold for $3750!

Actually, it's part of my ongoing effort to swell the coffers of the State of Rhode Island. Paid $400 for a car, they tax me on a valuation of $3050!

How do you fight the desire to keep each and every one. That would be my problem, no will power.
