my turn for the "barn find"

Headed to southwest Ga to pick up a 1993 300D with 130k miles. The lady that owned it died and her daughter called me about the car. I told her I'll come get it and get it going and she can decide what she wants to do with it. This should be interesting. I'll post pics when I get em.

Keep me posted if it's one that might become available. I can't tell by your post whether you're interested in it - but if not I might be, and at least we're in the same state.

300 miles and $800 later

it is in the yard and already sold after I get it in good nick. That was quick.

A true original owner 141k mile car with maintenance records and original window sticker ($44,840 in 1993 dollars). Put a battery in it, started it up and drove it on the trailer. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it came from the factory with r134. I did not check the a/c to see if it worked. I tried not to act too excited when I first got there. Kinda hard to do.

In the second picture what is the black car in the background to the right. An 80's era SD?

420SEL. I'm waiting on the owner to bring money to pay for fuel pumps. It has been there a couple months now.

Looks good in the pictures. I'm sure it sounds juvenile, but I've always been smitten with the louvered fender air intake.

x2 on your property.

And now we see your car hauler. I've been searching for a 6'10" wide car hauler (7' would be better) for months now. I find one, but its already sold is the usual ending. I've got the "perfect truck" to pull MBs on a trailer.

Yeah, all 1993 124 cars are R-134a from the factory. Be interesting to hear how well it functions. I'm not sure what compressor they use, but would guess it's still the 10p15 on a diesel.

What color code is that car? It looks, well, lavender in the pictures. I hope you sold it to a girl!
