Hmmmmmm......

I wonder if there's enough room for me to install an AC condenser from the 91 350SD with twin fans out front of the stock condenser on my 87 300SDL.

I wish the AC were working on my truck......

Low hanging cold fruit

While applauding this effort it bears noticing that it is being implemented to correct for a proven sub-optimal refrigerant - R-134 - that one has unnecessarily handicapped oneself with.

Logic would seem to dictate that you would optimize the refrigerant, the low-hanging fruit of components, as it were, before implementing this much more expensive, time consuming and invasive solution.

even R12 systems could benefit from this upgrade to the condenser.

it should be a direct bolt on. you will need to upgrade the wiring to the resistor, and the resistor itself!

It bolts right up. All you are gaining is a bit more fan area, the condensers are already the small tube variety.
