Pre purchase info
 

Hi folks -
I have a chance to buy an 87 300D. It's got about 260000 miles on it. "Everything works" and it has no visible rust. I'm going to look at it this weekend and am trying to get a list of what to look for. It supposedly has lots of records. In addition to what to look for, can you give me a ballpark on what it's worth? I've got a 90 300SEL but I haven't had a diesel since my 72 220D.

How does the transmission shift?

Do all the HVAC functions operate?

Windows, sunroof?

Go through the owner manual and check that everything works as it should.

Will you take a Hebrew National? :) My '87 300D with 170K miles eBay auction just closed at $2550. There are a couple other '87 300Ds on eBay now.
