Pyrometer install on a 602 motor - advice needed

So in another post I have discussed ALDA removal. Now I want to consider installing an EGT gauge/pyrometer. Does anyone have experience installing this at the best location (pre turbo I gather) on the 300D 2.5T model cars? My motor is the 602.962. Pictures and write-up would be great. I am wondering how hard the exhaust manifold and/or turbo are to pull from this car.

I thought about doing this. But really, the stock IP even with ALDA off can't put enough full down the throat of this car to cause EGT overheat concern. It would be more for academic interest watching the temps go up/down.

But if you're modifying the IP delivery of fuel then yes, and overboosting by putting a turbo wastegate controller on the car, then yes eyeball on EGT would be a good idea.

I'm exactly at this point: no ALDA, wastegate controller on, defeated EGR, delete catalytic, delete air mass sensing box... but haven't tweaked any IP setting and stock IP. If one day I go into the IP, put bigger elements in, adjust its limiters up, whatever.. then I'm right there with you and EGT is next on the list.

Others have put on EGT here.. search around a bit.

I'm stock on the IP other than the ALDA is removed. The only other mod I have is the GSXR pressure wastegate swap in place of the vacuum system so my default is boost that is limited by the wastegate at ~14 psi.

Jeremy set an EGT probe in the EGR source port in the exhaust manifold. This was on a 603.96 which has a different manifold arrangement from your 602.
