No aux fan-
Yep another overheating thread, 91 300D,2.5 turbo, temp gauge goes to nearly120 c. Fan runs when 12V applied to resistor, low and hi OK. Switch on and unplug blue sensor no fan, jumper pigtail to drier and fan OK. Blue sensor reads 3.7 K ohms, 5 hours after driving,I don't have a clue what that means but suspect blue sensor.
Then just for fun the rubber matting on bottom of hood came half way loose, what kind of glue should I get? Or cut off bad and get a patch piece? Many thanks to the forum members that have enabled me to replace the door strap, ignition switch and disable the alarm!!! Rebel86 |

Your car isn't overheating solely because the aux fan isn't turning. I'm guessing a bad fan clutch is the bigger part of the overheating issue.
Where is this blue sensor? The 3-pole switch by the upper radiator hose? Look into a new hood pad so you fix it once and for... umm... a long time. Sixto 87 300D |

Isn't there a level sensor in the reservoir? Does the radiator warning light come on during preglow?
