Window Regulator/Motor Questions

I'm trying to sell a window regulator w/motor, and am looking for some help on testing it/figuring out whether it needs work.

1) To test it, do I just run power to it from the car battery? If so, which jumper cables would the green & black wires running from the motor correspond to?

2) Is the arm OK? To me it looks like it should be attached to something:

The motor changes direction when polarity is switched. Take your pick.

the gears look good on your regulator, test the motor, then swing the arm into contact with the gears, and verify movement.
what's it off of? it appears to be a 126 regulator.

It's a rear regulator from a 300CD -- according to the part number, passenger-side rear.

ah, then, if it's in good shape, and unbent, it should be an easy sell!

That's what I figure. When I bought my parts, I couldn't price it out because no one was selling one!

FWIW, yard charged me $100 for a 126 motor and regulator when I NEEDED one. Said that as long as regulator & motor stayed together, didn't need to be an exact match to the one originally installed.

The one I bought did the job and I don't know for sure that the rest of the statement above is true.

85SD 240K & stopped counting painted, putting bac together. 84SD 180,000. sold to a neighbor and member here but I forget his handle. The 84 is much improved from when I had it. 85TD beginning to repair to DD status. Lots of stuff to do.

So... you installed a W126 regulator in a 300CD?

Is $80 shipped a low price for a coupe regulator + motor? I know I can't change a price once I've proposed it to a buyer, but for future reference, should I ask for more?
