Part number?

I am looking for a part # for the kilma relay for a 84 190D, I think someone put the wrong one in my car. The one I have is 001 545 83 05, does anybody know if that is the right one?

EPC says -81- for LM version and -83- like you have for LA version. My guess is LM is for manual transmission and LA is for automatic transmission.

LA (not Louisiana or Los Angeles) and LM are codes listed in the version column of EPC. I'm sure Roy knows what they mean. Any US-spec Diesel in 1984 would have EGR so I doubt that's the difference.

The reason I ask is where one of the metal male plugs goes in the female plug there is no conection, just plastic. Why would that be?

The sockets are built that way. The headlight connectors have 6 pins but only 5 are used.
