Firstly, does your 85 300SD have the outside temperature display? If so, where is the sensor for that located? Other than the outside temp display, an 83 and an 85 cluster should be swappable right?

I do not have an SD, but I think the outside temperature sensor is located on the front bumper, below the spot where you ount your front tag. It will look like a 4 inch metal pencil with a wire running out of it.

My, soon to be '84, has it's senser attached to the license plate bracket. Not sure if this location was carried over to the '85 tho...

Behind the front bumper it should be!!!!
