Secondaries: did you mean you would ship from Houston to Jax? How much do they weigh?
Zacharias, et al: I have some pictures of the engine compartment showing the WVO equipment below: http://imgur.com/a/CUryi I posted some WVO questions on the alternative fuel forum but I'd take answers here, too (as long as they aren't "I use Biodiesel and am better than you" or "ZOMGWTFBBQ WHY DID YOU RUIN THAT W123???!!?") Thanks, Michael |

Also, just because I am a total n00b--should the oil pressure be at 3 unless I'm in neutral (when it goes to about 1.5)? The gauges have operated this way since I first drove it (before its prepurchase inspection) and so I assume the mechanic would have said something, but I'd rather not assume that and be *wrong*.
Also, at what temp should the car run? 85c? Best, Michael |

If it runs at 85 most people on this forum will say that is perfect. Many of the cars run a bit hotter, or do so in some conditions. Some seem to run into the low 90s all the time. My opinion is that anything under 100 is acceptable (not a concern). Others aren't of the same opinion (see anything over the low 90s as problematic).

Thanks!
Sounds like (From a measurement standpoint) it's running great on diesel! Question about the ODO fix (I've read through the tutorial, etc)--will this fix the trip ODO as well or is that a separate beast? Thanks! Michael |

The oil pressure gauge is graduated in bar. 1 bar is 14.7 psi. You might see older US MBs with oil pressure gauge markings of 15, 30 and 45 psi. As Jeremy says, the coolant temp gauge is a serving suggestion. You shouldn't compare one car with another given the inaccuracy that develops in the gauge over time. Swap in a couple of factory new gauges and you'll likely see variance of a couple of needle widths. You're looking for a steady reading under 90*C on level ground creeping close to 100*C when pulling hard uphill. Temporary forays over 100*C don't indicate a problem. Sixto 87 300D |

Oh, I appreciate criticism, just not snark
Thanks for the advice, folks--I'm sure I'll have more questions and new threads. |
