Hi Wayne,

I go to pelicanparts.com -> Mercedes -> 1987 -> E-class -> 300D -> enter "glow plug" in the search field -> I see the pelican sifting through a 911 -> I see a listing of accessories and technical articles. This is an improvement but still no parts results. I'm not criticizing the site, just pointing out that there's progress but still not the expected result, which would be a parts listing of glow plugs and glow plug relays.

I've gone through and clarified 1981 through 1983, and we're looking for more areas where it might be confusing.

Sorry about that, the search engine databases are all re-indexing right now. I set them to re-run last night, and for some reason they are taking longer. For that particular car, I pushed it manually. Works now! (I think/hope).

Right, you can find them directly, but the search engine (which I was working on all weekend) wasn't indexed properly on that.

thx,

Wayne

Well--Speaking as a UK member.....

IF we had such a great supplier of parts that Pelican appear to do, I would be extatic!

Go check out the 'closest' UK supplier which I recon would be GSF or eurocarparts, look for W123 parts--You'll have a VERY short list! Brake-pads and discs, bottom-ball joints, and thats your lot!

Not sure if you guys ship to UK--Guess you do, but the ever present shipping is the problem!

I think the Resourses tab should be left the way it was, one click, drop down box and there were the DIY Articles and the DIY Links.

I was bad enough that the headquarters were moved to Calif. from Georgia (new owner) and we are now having to pay sales tax here in Ca. now we get double shafted on the 15th with Cali charging sales tax on all Internet sales. but that has nothing to do with with this discussion.

Keyword search is working now for glow plug and just about anything I throw at it.

Next, on my end I see the pelican searching the 911 for over 10 seconds before results display. I'm sure results will come quicker in time.

Agreed, Wayne and team's family come first and they're working on a formula that has worked for them before. The result is hopefully closer to what the majority want than as my friend who grew up in Russia puts it, "you have a choice of sausage or no sausage."

Yes, we ship to the UK almost every single day. Our Porsche / BMW catalog and website are done right - the slow way - by integrating the catalog with just about all the things you can possibly buy, and also combining tech articles with the parts listings. The quick and dirty has never been the motto / plan here at Pelican. I know that change is difficult and annoying, and I anticipated some issues like these so it's no sweat off of my back. But, I think everyone will see that what we have here is really a great improvement over anything else that is out there.

Thanks again,

Wayne

Let me see if I can come up with some type of compromise solution.

Yup, sorry about that, there was nothing that could be done about that particular issue.
