PNP 50% sale Jan 18 - 21

I forgot to post this a few days ago, but PNP is having another 50% off sale Friday the 18th to Monday the 21st.

Having the Tool Kit Rewards card I got in a day earlier.
Yesterday I pulled a Turbo off a 81 300SD and Oil Line. this Turbo has almost no up and down play, none forward to rear.

I wanted the pass seat. It is the older style (Tuck N Roll) and black. someone removed the 2 front bolts and then pushed the seat back so it was sticking up. Guess they thought they could get to the rear bolts this way. I pulled the plug and with a battery, the only controls that worked were the up and down and the back rest tilt, but wouldn`t come back up. Damn, had good covers too. OH Well.

Pulled a Lift pump off a 85 300D and the VCV.

I needed to replace the headlight on the 240 a month or so back, and O`Rilleys wanted $25 for one. so looking through my crap found one out in the barn.

On my way out pulled 3, one off a 280Z and 2 off something that has the head lights that tilt up from the hood. they drop into the hood when turned off.

Then found 2 on another 280Z that are flat face Hellas (made in Germany) that take the H-4 bulbs.

I then headed over to the north yard to check out the inventory. get to the front door, and they just closed. waited until someone came out and I slipped in went past the workers ( they were busy check out the long line of people) and made a quick round through the Euro section. one old badly rusted POS 82 300TD, cloth seats, engine gone. notice it has Progressive springs. thought about the front Tortion Bar, but seeing the blistery rust on the center of the bar, I could imagine what the ends looked like.

A 123 280E, brown with green stuff growing on it, yuk. a 126 Euro 350 or 380SE, cloth seats and manual CC. and one old gasser 116.

There was a guy struggling to push one of the Engine Hoists between the row of cars with an eng swinging on it. so gave him a hand getting it to the front. those things have a mind of their own wanting to go 4 directions at once.

Hi Charlie, you need to slow down on your PNP-ing. You have way too much parts stash away already. A lot of what you pulled can be resold for a profit, either here or in eBay. Or you can pull-to-order, just put a note in the FS section.

Anyway happy PNP-ing but just don't get carry away.

Toolkit only

Charlie,
I'm pretty sure the 50% off this weekend is for
Toolkit members only. Should make it less crowded.
I picked up a pair of Infinity Kappa speakers someone
put in back of their 420. Not bad for five bucks each

The only things I need are probably too hard to find at pick and pull lol. A really nice gen 1 w126 euro front bumper, bosch euro headlights, and a non broken palomino sun visor for the passenger side. Some ronal R9 wheels would be nice too, but the only set I ever saw was long before I had even ever thought of owning a mercedes.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Which PNP is this?
Or is it any that are official PNP yards?

As Rooster said, this 50% sale is for Tool Kit Rewards card holders. Usually these 50% sales are for everyone.

I helped a guy today that was pulling a 603 out of a 87 300SD. He had it all disconnected and ready to lift out, except for some straps to the hoist. rear seat belts work great, pull them out and cut off, then unbolt the 17mm bolt.
then bolt the "L" bracket to he engine, and tie the straps to the hoist.

I let him use my card, he got 1/2 off and I got the points.

I found a 85 300TD that must have just come in, it is all complete. this is the first time I have come across the cross bars in the yards. got the rear tail lights and the window switches. the pass seat is almost perfect, and blue.

Tomarrow bright and early, the engine is coming out. spedo shows 168K. we`ll see.

I did see a 126 with Euro bumpers today. they aren`t perfect (20 + yrs ago they were) but presentable.

So, Charlie,
Did you get your engine today?
What other goodies you run across?
By the way, nice trick using the seatbelts to pull up the engine.

Hey Rooster, Yeah I went back yesterday and pulled the eng out of the 85 300TD. I actually pulled it for Dieselkraut23. I brought my Engine Tilter and that helped.
I took off the Alternator, Starter, Power Steering Pump, AC Compressor and hoses, and the Intake/Exhaust/Turbo/Trap Oxidizer assy and CC Actuator.
Left the OIl Cooler on and Fan.

Cost out the door $217.85

Even though this is a Cali car, it had a spot of serious blistered rust at the to left on the roof above the windsheld rubber and the lower right Cowel where the corner of the hood meet. When I pushed the hood up to the Heil Hitler position, (German Salute) she was stiff and complained. got up ontop of the engine to give it all I had, and the Hinges ripped out they were so rusted. I have heard of that but first time I have experienced it.
The lower large eng mount bolt was missing, could see where that side had been working for a while, and thought the other side could be loose from it, but NOOOO, that side was rounded out. and the tin place over the eng mount was sidewise so getting to one of the small bolts was impossible. finally just lifted the eng and ripped the rubber.

Over all this is a pretty solid car.

Yesterday was a first, my wife went with me to PNP two day`s in a row. sure glad she was with me to help push that damn hoist, those things want to go 4 ways at once.

Going to take it easer today, she kicked my rear yesterday. The car not my Wife.

Was that 300TD red and at the Richmond yard Charlie? I think you made my life easier... I saw the car and thought "swaybar". Noticed the engine was out and did a little dance since I knew it would so much easier with the engine out.

Sad that it had rust issues... looked like an otherwise nice car.

NO, the TD I was working on is at the Moss Landing yard, and is dark blue.

I went back yesterday for the last day of the sale.
Pulled the third Row seats, Front Sway bar. Someone pulled the upper control arms, so that was nice of them to save me some work. thing came right out.
Dripped the Blower Motor and checked it with a battery, and it lifted me off the ground , dang it had some power. found two good Black Visors off a 2nd gen 126. One GP Relay off a 87 300SD and the one off the 85 300TD. One fuel filter housing with the #2 off another SD.
The door Actuators were all good , and two door checks from the TD also..

I was going to remove the SLS rear shocks from the TD, but that timey little 5mm Hex screw rounded off, on both of them. they are good one`s w/o any leakage. Looking in my w123 FSM, MB used a regular bolt head up to 82, then made the change to the Hex (Allen) head. what`s up with that?

The door weather strip on our 240 is pretty aged and ratty and need replacing, so until I can pony up with some $$$ for the good MB stuff, I pulled the seal off the 85TD across the top and down the edge. I can piece it in and RTV the ends. this should hold us over for a while.

Nice... I actually found a weatherguard toolbox on a chevy truck. Black cross-box that could use a new coat of paint but not too dinged up. Not bad to get a weatherguard box for $37.50 plus tax. Got 50% off since "I pulled it from the yard". Luckily it was hidden on an old C30 chevy dually truck. Fits in the bed of my Chevy Duramax nicely.
