Alda repair or replacement
The car in question is a newly purchased 1980 300sd. I just noticed that the alda screw seems to be missing. Performance of the car is very good so I don't think there are any issues there. I have a 1980 300sd parts car with an alda that has not been touched. So my question is can I fix this? If so, can I replace just the screw or will I have to swap the entire alda housing?

If you are talking about the adjustment screw in the center. It can not be reconnected to the bellows inside. Install a new unit. I f you adjust the replacement only a quarter turn at a time and no more that one full turn.

I wouldn't change anything with it, putting an untouched ALDA on there will just make the car sluggish and less enjoyable
