Source for vacuum diaphragms
Hi every one
I had to fix the klima control vacuum diaphragms under the dash on my 85 300D, but I didn't wand to spend hundreds of Dollars on new vacuum pods. So I ordered the diaphragms only from Performance Analysis Company. Performance Analysis | Climate Control | Diaphragms | Blower Motors | Pushbutton Panels | Vacuum Door Locks | Autotemp | Cruise Control | Engine Oil Analysis | Mercedes-Benz Parts | Mercedes-Benz Club of America | Oak Ridge | Car Care I had a pleasant phone conversation with George when I ordered the parts and what I received looked well made and did fit perfectly. Each diaphragm was $6 so I changed all of them. I tested the air distribution system with the dash of after the repair. It is interesting to see all the vacuum pods working depending on what button you push, or where you set the temp dial. You also test the push button control unit, the fan and the mono valve at the same time. However, the way how some of the pods are connected to the heater box suggests that there are not made to be reused. Mounting pins brake easy on 25 year old plastic and so do the little clips that hold the pods together.
