turbo valve cover and nom turbo valve cover
2 Attachment(s)
Any body know that the turbo one wont work fine on the turbo motor? I had a spare one I picked up a while bac and started the polish job on it, got the hard part almost finished. I dont see any big difference inside as far as cam clearance issues. i cut the entire surface first with 120 on an 8" grinder polisher, because of boredom and obsessive compulsive need to polish nice aluminum shht. B-sides easier to keep clean. The only tedious part of the early vc is the injector notches, everything else goes quick.

It will fit, i think the only difference(s) are in how the linkage adjustment stuff mounts to the top of the valve cover. Im sure you can make it work.

All 617 valve covers on the 123 and the 126 are the same.
Only the 300D W115 has a different cover. |
Valve covers on the 616 and 617 in the vans have different valve covers. Oil fill hole is different.

The 115 617 valve cover lacks the two 6mm mounting holes on the left side for the accelerator linkage bracket that the 123 and the 126 uses.
The oil baffle design was changed in 1980, but the old and new design cover will still fit any year engine. |

Hmm-- the spare came off an 81 i need to find a metric elbow with a barb hose end that will screw in to the straight up vent tube hole.

The thread on that fitting is M 18 X 1.5.

Thanks Mog. Do you think a good old school forign car parts store would have generic types of this?

Don't you still need the 4 top bosses to mount the plate for the accelerator linkage?
