Bye 1982 300sd -
Sold my favorite car today due to financial hardship . . . . sold the td wagon too - my 1982 300sd was the best car I ever owned, solid, durable and beautiful! I teared up and could not speak! That car never let me down and was a joy to maintain . . . still in shock! Silver blue (no clear coat issues) with blue leather, many people commented on her timeless beauty and patina. Down to a w115 300d with low miles and many repairs ahead of me -wish me luck, I hope the '75 car carries me far -

wow, sad to hear!
I will soon be loosing my original 82SD as well... I've had it for 13 years... anyway, I hope you don't have nearly the issues Roy did with his daughter's 115! |
Some of us will always remember a car we sold we should not have. Even if it is in hindsite. At other times it amounts to we do what we have to sometimes as well. Neither senario provides a pleasant feeling.

I had to do the same thing in similar circumstances in 2005, sold two cars, one of which was irreplaceable and both of which were subsequently pretty much destroyed by the purchasers. Ended up driving a $300 Dodge Caravan.
Hang in there. |
Thanks all . . . . yes, sometimes life forces us to do things that we have to do, I wanted to take that car to one million miles just because -

I am the contrarian.
You do what you had to do to survive, it is part of life. I can tell you a lot of things I regret - like buying/selling stocks, changing jobs, buying/selling houses. The list is endless. So what is the issue with a car? You sold it at a price that you are willing to accept.
Life experience tells me that if the circumstance forces you to make a decision then that is always the BEST decision. That is the way it meant to be. Move on. |
