I know there is a Timken facility in my city...and the company that I work for made a few equipment sales to Timken..

If the bearing is carrying a reputed brand name then theres good chance they will be of high standard. 8 years ago I bought entire bearing sets for my VW Golf, all were FAG, and were made in Korea and the cone ones in Slovenia. They worked perfectly till I drove that car.

The OE equipment will be FAG in a german brand of car. But if it concerns too much then SKF, Koyo, Timken etc are equally good - I have even used an Italian bearing in an idler pulley - Italians are not known for long lasting quality

So.....back to the Shaeffer/FAG website and ...they have a plant in Slovenia. So, it may be that the MB bearing is also FAG; just made in Slovenia instead of Korea. I'll get it next week so I'll post if its also FAG.

Just a quick update: I received the bearing from the Mercedes dealer and it is also a FAG bearing. Only difference is that it is made in the Slovenia plant instead of the Korea plant. I dont know if there are any differences in quality between the plants but both bearings carry the FAG name.

Any chassis bearing will work perfectly before you drive, it's how they do one once you start driving that is key!

(I'm assuming you meant "sold," not "drove," I just thought it was a funny typo.)

I bought the below part 2-3 years ago; since then the place I bought them from has been gradually changing the parts they sell to cheaper parts.
I think the Support Bearing I used from Korea was an INA Bearing mentioned by the other Member.
The Drive Shaft Support I bought was Meyle (made in Thailand).
During the U-joint Job where I changed the above parts I reused the old Flex Discs.

Within the last 3 months I replaced the Flex Discs with LEMFÖRDER/Lemfoerder/Lemforder Flex Discs. And, after removing the Old ones you could see that the needed to be changed.

That car was driven for more than 65,000 kms by me after the bearing job and is now owned by a freind, I'll ask him about the wheel bearings

Yep funny typo - its quite strange thinking in one language and writing in another.
